There are aspects of both the banners that I like but I am not sure what the designer's brief was. I am leaning toward something more hip. What about a flash banner to add more motion to the site? _Andre
I totally agree with Alice - funky/fun is what we need! Is it possible to submit our own suggestions? Some of us might have friends who are designers and might offer us a banner design for free.
My personal preference would be to avoid flash, because it will increase the size of the page (will load slower) and it's not an “open” standard.
The banner is Ok but needs to be modified there n there like Phillip and Alice say, it should look more 'fun/funky'.
I also agree with Alice and instead of flash can motion jpeg images do the trick, if they do not loose quality.

I have added a banner design of my own trying to capture the following: re-use,mixing, global, internet, creative commons, fun, funky. Hope you can identify these elements
I like Andre's better than the other two. Should we maybe open this up to a larger group of potential designers? We could post on thetha, or I could ask a few friends to put it on their blogs - we offer young designers a chance to put their work on our site? P
I also like Andre's. I think that it is in line with what Rip Mix is about. But if you want to open up the field a little bit and see what others can come up with, why not?
Andre I also like your funky banner. Can you tell us more about the 'image' -what is symbolises? Regards Juliet
Just for your information Andre and Phillip…don't know why these two banners were uploaded (these were 'tests' if we were going to go with eTeaching site…). However please feel free to give Humphrey some suggestions Phillip. He can redesign Regards Juliet
I think the funky banner is cool, but maybe we could add some things to it like a sound wave or something?
A reminder that banners are for your feedback/input. There might be aspects that you dis/like. We can see how the banner can be improved in some cases. More ideas are welcome but we need to have a time-frame. Are there any suggestions?
